Fire Walking - An Act of Faith
How is it that fire walkers are able to walk across
red hot coals
(often 1500 degrees Fahrenheit) and still not get
burned?

The story of Missy, a reluctant firewalker
I take people on fire walks several times each year. The results speak
for themselves. At one of these fire walks that I led, my daughter
and some friends were present. Among them was a young lady by the
name of Missy.
Missy was about to have a powerful experience regarding faith. At
the beginning of the fire walk, Missy and another lady announced that
they were there for the seminar only, and had no intentions of walking
on the red hot coals.

Oneness with the fire
As fate would have it, these two women wound up
standing next to each other at the fire. Drums were
pounding and the atmosphere was electric.
I watched these two ladies as they stood there since
nearly everyone else had fire walked, including
my daughter. Then as though guided, the two women
held hands without speaking, and both walked slowly
over the fire.
It was one of those electric moments that everyone
seemed to notice. Everyone burst into cheer and
jubilation. They had achieved oneness with the fire,
and with each other.

A
loss of focus
Then Missy found my daughter, and exclaimed, "Let's
be cool, and walk across together." Without realizing
it, she'd changed her rationale for walking, and
this set off a chain of events. Missy walked again,
but this time she sustained several blisters.
Missy and I sat together and began to look at her
life. She soon realized that she was doing things
to be cool, instead of with intuition, from her
heart. As a result, metaphorically she was burned
every time.
She saw how she would date a boy because he was
handsome, or in the spotlight in sports. And when
it became painfully obvious to both, that there
was a conflict of energy, the conflict would manifest
itself in painful separation, akin to a spiritual
burn. |

A step towards self-healing
As we found more and more of these circumstances in Missy's life,
with her family, and friends, her blisters and the pain subsided.
By morning, they were almost completely gone.
She had performed a kind of 'self-healing' by her realization of her
motivations in life, and her willingness to address them and change.
